To produce PRP, blood must be extracted with anticoagulant. Next it comes the centrifugation, which allows the sample to separate in 3 visible phases: plasma fraction, leukocyte fraction and erythrocyte fraction. The plasma phase contains different concentrations of platelets, allowing them to be divided into 3 fractions. The centrifugation speed will depend on the rotor available and the centrifugation method that will be used. Finally PRP can be apply directly, or it can be activated.
